Malansrus Tented Camp

In the heart of Damaraland, where the granite koppies turn pink in the late afternoon and the sky glows orange as the sun goes down, is Malansrus Tented Camp. On a sidearm of the Aba Huab River, it’s accessible by any vehicle and at the end of the road, you’ll find nine spacious ensuite tents tucked under lofty mopane trees, all well-spaced for privacy and excellent views over the surrounding koppies.

The communal area is the social hub: a lounge, dining room and bar spilling onto a shady patio with a firepit that gets going as the night cools. There’s a pool for the heat of the day and a nearby waterhole that draws plains game and birds from miles around, too. The camp is also well-placed as a base for the Twyfelfontein, a site of more than 2,500 rock engravings, the oldest dating back almost 6,000 years.
